Mangalica Festival , 10-12. February, Budapest: Mangalica or Mangalitsa is a breed of pig grown especially in Hungary and the Balkans. On the festival you can taste different sausages and hams made of mangalica and locally produced cheese, honey, jam, syrup, chocolate and other products as well.
Budapest Fish Festival, 10-12. February: You can try several types of fish dishes, both Hungarian and international.
Dance Festival in Budapest, 16. February-1. March: One of the key events of the season is the Budapest Dance Festival organised by the National Dance Theatre. The Festival’s aim is to put Budapest on the international dance map by inviting renowned international companies. Besides the most influential figures of Hungarian dance, the Budapest Dance Festival has hosted: Shen Wei Dance Arts (US), Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo (US), Merce Cunningham Dance Company (US), Grupo Corpo (BR), Company fabrik Potsdam (D), Kylián Production (NL), Doug Varone and Dancers (US), as well as Ballet Preljocaj (FR).

Connector Dance Festival, 4-5. March Veszprém (15 km from Lake Balaton): More than 2000 dancers competing with each other with national and international dances.
Pig slaughter & Palinka Feast, 15-19. March; Szeged (Southwest Hungary): Real countryside feeling and a lot of palinka. Pálinka is a type of spirit distilled from fruit, native to Hungary and comes in a variety of flavours, including apricot, cherry, plum, apple, pear and grape marc.
Budapest Spring Festival, 31. March-23. April: The yearly festival is Hungary`s biggest cultural event. With several national and international musicians in opera, jazz, folk and classical music and a numerous concerts at different venues of the city, it is a great experience!
Palinka Festival in Gyula, 28-30. April; Gyula (Southwest Hungary): Pálinka is a type of spirit distilled from fruit, native to Hungary and comes in a variety of flavours, including apricot, cherry, plum, apple, pear and grape marc. On this festival you can taste a great variety of palinka of different distilleries. Gyula is also known for its thermal baths which are used as a medical treatment for various diseases. It is the best to combine the festival with a Spa tour.

Beer Festival 15-18 June ; Veszprém (15 km from Lake Balaton): The festival introduces more than 50 beer distillaries, national and international products and specialities of local producers.
VOLT Festival, 27. June – 01. July; Sopron (Nothwest Hungary): One of the biggest pop music festival in Hungary with national and international bands.
Balaton Sound Festival, 5-9. July; Zamárdi: Electronic music festival at Zamardi`s beach at Lake Balaton.
Riding Festival on the puszta in Hortobágy, 7-9. July (East Hungary): 2 days festival about the Hungarian riding culture on the Puszta with authentic dresses and performances.
VinCe Balaton, 14-17. July; Balatonfüred (Lake Balaton): Wine event at Lake Balaton which presents wines from whole Central Europe, similar to the VinCe Budapest in March.
Street Music Festival in Veszprém, 19-22. July; Veszprém (15 km from Lake Balaton): Street Music Festival with different music styles (ethno, jazz, blues, rock, rockabilly, reggae, swing, gypsy etc.), with international musicians, a real festival atmosphere. Beside the great music, you can enjoy street food and beer specialties.

Sausage Festival in Békéscsaba 19-22. October; (West-Hungary): The „Csabai” sausage is a Hungaricum. This festival is Central Europe`s most known and popular gastrocultural event.
